How is my privacy and personal information protected?
Communication during counselling sessions is private and confidential. No information we discuss can be disclosed to anyone else without your written consent. The only exception to this is when we are bound by law to report if a client discloses abuse or neglect of a child, if a client intends to harm themselves or another, or when the courts order the release of confidential information. This is simply industry-standard and will be addressed with you when necessary.
All charting by counsellors can only be accessed by your counsellor, we DO NOT share information between practitioners at Fusion Health Clinic for counselling.

How many counselling sessions are required?
The number of sessions required depends on the kind of issue you’re struggling with and how you’re experiencing progress in treatment. Because this is highly individual, we do not set predetermined limits or expectations on the number of sessions you receive. Research shows that on average.
- People experience decreases in emotional distress within 3-4 sessions
- Significant and lasting improvement is most likely to occur after 12 or more sessions
- People can continue to see benefits in longer term counselling particularly for severe depression, trauma, and personality issues
